Writer's Block

Reading: Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen by Christopher McDougall

Life above the clouds
The last week and a half have been nothing but one epic blockade for my being capable of  writing anything remotely coherent. This applies to blog post, personal statements, album reviews, emails, etc. So instead I give you websites you should read (and that are some what relevant):
  1. Hilary loves Peace Corps. If Madam Secretary giving some love to PCVs doesn't warm your heart, you just might not have a heart to warm.
I’m very proud of our Peace Corps Volunteers because they are standing up for the idea that every young woman can make a difference in her own life and in her community. And it is a great pleasure for me always, as I travel around the world, to meet Peace Corps Volunteers, who represent the great values and ideals of our nation.
    - Secretary of State Hilary Clinton during her visit to a Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) in Malawi run by Peace Corps Volunteers.
  2. HuffPo loves Peace Corps. See Mom & Dad, being a PCV really does look great on the resume, even Willy Volk says so and he's the supervising editor at a major online new publication.
  3. 'Murica is getting no love from this brother. This article has been floating around the blogsphere for a few weeks now and creating a lot of uproar at that. I'm not necessarily saying that I agree with all ten of his points, but it's certainly worth reading and maybe scratching your head over.
  4. Julian Assange loves Ecuador. Now that President Correa has offically granted the WikiLeaks mastermind political asylum in Ecuador's British embassy, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Do diplomatic rights extend to official cars so they can whisk his off to an airport and out of the country? What if they expedite citizenship and instate him as an ambassador? Can he legally leave then? How does one get the world's most wanted to Ecuador?
  5. Smile Paul Ryan. If you haven't already caught on to the fact that Paul Ryan's toothless grin is an open door for endless internet meme, this website is for you. Followed closely by @PaulRyanGosling. Now would be the appropriate time for to reiterate the official Peace Corps disclaimer:
This writer and blog do not reflect the views of the United States Government or the United States Peace Corps. All of the content here is original.
Completely unrelated, I'm not sure if I have been completely clear about the fact that I live in the most beautiful place in all of Ecuador. ¡Viva Paccha! (Although I will never adjust to running up your never ending hills and your ice cold showers.)
